Troubleshooting tips for your BioTek® Synergy Plate Readers:
If any test fails, try the solutions below:
Make sure the solutions you are using are fresh. Open buffer and stock solutions should be discarded after seven days
Make sure your excitation/emission filters are clean and that they are in the proper locations, and the proper orientation in the filter wheels
Make sure you are using new/clean plates. We suggest you re-run the test with a new/clean microplate. If the base of a clear plate is touched, clean the entire base with alcohol (95% ethanol) and then wipe with a lint-free cloth. Before placing a plate in the instrument, blow the bottom of the plate with an aerosol. If the test fails again, the optical probe(s) may need to be cleaned
Make sure that the Plate Type setting in the protocol matches the plate you used
